so anyway as some of you know about a month ago i entered an online writing competition, well i guess i didn't win lol, as i never heard back but that's OK, because i didn't really expect to win on my first try out, but as they say you have to be in to even have a chance at a win. there is always more competitions, i am really glad that my written piece even got accepted so that's a huge victory in itself and i can only improve on making the next piece i might enter a different time better.

not much more going on at my end of the world, my  laptop is in getting repaired, so i haven't been doing any designs, but hopefully i will get my laptop back soon as it is really weird without it lol.

i have been looking online at publishing companies in New Zealand to think about publishing. i applied a t a company the other day and was surprised to get a formal quote back on a deal that they could do for me, and its definitely something i am going to look into when i get more financially secure, because right now i just don't have the 300 dollars that i need, but i have emailed them back telling them that i will definitely be interested in the near future.

challenge given and accepted

so in the process of doing something different, that was set to me as a challenge by someone i work with, they decided to challenge me to making a comic with some of my designs, so being me i accepted the challenge, because i am generally always up to try something new, and let me tell you, it is kinda proving harder than first imagined, it has taken me two days but i have finally got the designs done i think, some of them have changed looks several times in the last couple days, so maybe they still need some work but i think i got the main ideas done just some minor tweaking needed, waiting to hear back from someone who i sent them to, so i can hear her ideas on where she thinks i could change or improve, waiting patientally :) the part that i am finding difficult is the dialog, i have never really been one to tell a story, i can write poems no problem but when it comes to having to tell a story my mind is blank, i have sat and pondered it for awhile, i am not gonna put a time on that because lets put it this way, i have sat here for a long period of time and still come up with nothing, like i said not my gift. but im still gonna keep trying, because like a very wise friend of mine told me yesterday, she said, "try try try again, Do you think I should give up trying to do new things because I might suck at them?, you cant stop trying ok, should a writer give up after 3 failed books? What if the fourth is a hit like the FSOG, My point is dont ever stop trying"      ok....... i guess she has a point (but dont tell her i said that :P)

New look to links pages, and also both my links and some of my friends links have been updated, added to and even in some instances changed. they are also in two seperate categories now, which will hopefully make it easier to look at. and then my friends also get to have a special page all to themselves. i love it and hope you do to, check them out :)

crazy week

this week has been crazy, work, netball, chatting with friends, meeting up with friends. its not been a bad week. im looking forward to a couple weeks off soon. one more week of work and then two weeks off, it will be good for some down time, the last 10 weeks of work have gone reasonably quick and we are already through half the school year, its crazy to think that we have a total of 18 weeks of the school year let, i know thats still a few but if you think about it long enough it really isnt all that much time, but hey what can you do. 

i havent heard anything from the writing competition i entered, but that doesnt necessarily mean much yet, as htey still might be going through all the entries, im not to worried though i mean it is only the first short story competition that i have entered, there will always be more, and more talented people that should only drive me to want to improve. you have to be in it to win it right.
